We like to stay near Penn Station when we have travel on LIRR, Amtrak, or NJ Transit. We also love Korean barbacue and this hotel is in Korea Row. The location is also good for getting to the east side and heading north or south on foot or by train or bus. There is a CVS on the corner for water, milk, or anything else you might need. We had a king bed, which was comfortable. The room was clean. 2 out of 3 concierge staff were really nice and helpful. The chambermaid was very nice and did a good job.

The exhibit about Nicola Tesla (who died there) was a memorable touch. For all of that the price was surprisingly reasonable.

The place has a very modest, no frills arrangement with many small, individual pod rooms created instead of taking a bed amongst many in one large dorm. No cooking facilities but free breakfast style foods (vegetarian) offered all day long. Super easy to get to from Penn Station.

Steps from the 34 St Harold Square subway stop and a walking distance to the 34 St Penn Station stop which both are big stations so you basically can travel anywhere in New York by subway easily. The room is clean, newly-renovated and non-carpet which I like. Free breakfast is a bonus and it's not shabby at all. There's a free coffee station that is available 24/7.
